Support Engineer
Job Description
Agari is leading the industry to secure email. Our mission is to restore trust to email — the world’s most ubiquitous online communication channel. Securing the email channel greatly decreases the damage done by spam and targeted fraud. We seek a stellar Support Engineer to join our growing team. Our customers include some of the world’s largest banks, eCommerce sites, and social networks. Our unique anti-phishing service prevents phishing messages from being delivered. Our solution is based on the open standards SPF and DKIM, and represents a significant departure from traditional spam-filters as a means of stopping fraudulent email.
Responsibilities
As part of a growing and exciting startup, the Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting our customers with issues related to email authentication.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Deep understanding of SMTP and DNS. Do you know the difference between the HELO identity and the envelope identity? Do you know how to send an email message using telnet? Do you know which characters must be escaped in a zone file?
- Hands-on experience deploying SPF and DKIM in a production environment. Do you understand the difference between -all, ~all, and? all in an SPF record? What’s a DKIM selector? What are the allowable hash algorithms for a DKIM signature?
- Must be comfortable using Linux, MacOS, and Windows
- Solid background developing complex SQL queries (Postgres 9)
- Experience with DMARC a plus
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English.
